Simon Pontin is the owner at Finger Lakes Vintage & Sports Car.  He started his career in a machine shop learning to use saws, welders, mills, lathes, surface grinders and precision measuring equipment.  He became proficient in all the equipment of metal fabrication.  He advanced to work as a mechanical designer for fifteen years.  During this long career he designed pneumatic and electric systems, tooling and machines.  He later earned a business administration degree from Rochester Institute of Technology.
From his early teens he worked on cars and engines.  With his career established, he built a shop of his own to do restoration on his and friends cars.  Along the way he became a certified painter, achieved I-car platinum status and is a licensed auto estimator
   With this lifetime of passion he has started his own vintage and sports car restoration shop where he can devote his full time to serving customers who share the passion.
